The Teen Health Clinic began offering services to medically underserved, at-risk adolescents and young adults in Manchester in June of 1998. To date, the Teen Health Clinic has served over 3,300 patients. The goal of the Teen Health Clinic is to maintain and improve the physical, mental and social well-being of these adolescents and young adults by offering them a medical home that increases their access to health care and related social support services. Our patients are offered primary medical care, psychosocial support services and health promotion programs. This comprehensive approach, which is implemented by a multi-disciplinary staff, takes into consideration a full range of health behaviors and the specific needs of the patient and their family.
The Teen Health Clinic collaborates extensively with other Manchester youth-serving agencies, including Child and Family Services, the Youth Empowerment Program, the Office of Youth Services, and the Makin’ It Happen Coalition. These collaborations help to extend the reach into the community and to expand the range of resources and services we can make available to our patients. Another great benefit is to allow the Teen Health Clinic the ability to partner with other stakeholders to advocate for adolescent issues at the local, state, and national level. The Teen Health Clinic is committed to continuing to provide high quality and accessible care to this vulnerable and often overlooked population.
