Social Services

The services provided by the team of nine family support workers and two social workers who make up the Social Service Department are integral to implementing a bio-psychosocial model of healthcare. This means that we focus on promoting the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children. Family support workers (FSWs) are responsible for assessing the social strengths and needs of clients and developing and implementing care plans with families. As part of the clinic team, the FSWs assist with follow-up on the recommendations made to clients by the medial and nutrition staff.

In their work with families, the family support workers focus on:

Improved Access to Healthcare

Improved Access to Community Resources

Improved Health Outcomes
